Somatic Experiencing in Toronto
I am a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner based in Toronto, offering online somatic trauma healing and spiritual healing sessions for people in Canada and internationally.
Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to trauma healing that works with the nervous system and the ways past experience may still be shaping present life. Rather than asking you to relive or retell everything, the work supports a slower listening to sensations, emotions, impulses, and patterns of protection in the body.
When something has been overwhelming, the body may continue to organize around it long after the event has passed. This can show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, shutdown, hypervigilance, relationship patterns, difficulty with boundaries, or a sense of being caught in reactions that feel bigger than the moment.
Somatic Experiencing helps us approach these patterns with care and pacing. The focus is not to force release or push for catharsis, but to support the nervous system in finding more capacity, regulation, and choice.
What Somatic Experiencing Sessions Can Support
The work is especially helpful when insight is already present, but the nervous system has not yet caught up. Rather than trying to think your way out of the pattern, we listen for how the body is organizing around protection, and what might slowly become possible when there is more safety, contact, and choice.
In my work, Somatic Experiencing is held within a wider somatic and spiritual frame. Sessions may include conversation, quiet attention, body awareness, relational inquiry, and a listening for what is emerging beneath the familiar pattern.
If you have already understood a lot about yourself but still feel that something in the body continues to respond from an earlier place, this work may be supportive. It can also be helpful during life transitions, grief, relational difficulty, spiritual opening, or times when old patterns are becoming more visible.
I have been a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner since 2009 and am a member of Somatic Experiencing International.
