Surrendering to the Sacred

To surrender is an act of the divine. Understand it is an act of accessing
the divine from within, and know that only we can do this for ourselves.
There is no one in this world, or any other, who can do this for us. We
can call on help to support us, but know it is only within us and from us that
we create the act of surrender. To surrender is to finally concede that we
play a part in a much larger mechanism than we could ever uphold on our own.
It is to trust in this mechanism which some call source or creator. There
are many names by which people identify it. what you call it is not as
important as having the faith and trust in it and in yourself.
THE QUEST
There is a natural flow to the universe, and if we allow ourselves to exist
within the current of that flow, the rewards can be extraordinary. Some of
us have experienced periods where we have lived within that space. While
for others, it can be difficult to near impossible to achieve or sustain this
sacred connection. We believe that there is an internal force that resides
within each individual soul. It may take a different shape or structure,
but at the end of the dream it will lead us all to the nirvana we seek.
THEMES OF POWER AND CONTROL
A large part of the world is driven by consumerism. We live in a society
where mass consciousness has become out of balance and so misaligned with power
and control. Within many corporations there is a huge drive to create a
never-ending need which 'they promise' by various subliminal means will be
fulfilled by purchasing their product or service.
In many parts of the world the power
and control theme is being played out through territorial conflicts or by means
of war. This, too, is another aspect of power and control being out of
balance, perpetuating the premise that I will gain power by controlling you or
your country.
If we zoom in and bring the focus
back to the individual, know that the seeds are already planted within each of
us. How we direct our own power and control is dependent on our own
consciousness level and our circumstances in life.
SURRENDERING TO THE FLOW
When we are unwilling to relinquish control, we remain imprisoned in a static
position. We are no longer growing and developing but are putting all our
energy and effort into holding on to what we have. The truth of the matter
is that if your focus is solely on maintaining the status quo, be it holding on
to what you have now, or adding fuel to some conflict you are experiencing, what
you are building for yourself is just more of what you now have.
This exercise in control can
have deep roots within our soul experience, and part of the journey may
be to understand that control is nothing more than an illusion. At
an early age we
all begin to test drive our abilities to control our environment and the
people that surround us. In many experiences as
children, we may be getting our first taste of the power and control
aspect in our world and how to navigate through. Looking to those
whose role is to nurture and take care of us, we sometimes are being
unconsciously tutored in the misalignment of power and control,
especially if these individuals have not already balanced these aspects
within themselves.
We gain the greatest personal power
by releasing our need to control others. The only true control we ever
exercise is in how we choose to conduct ourselves. We have control over
ourselves, anything else is an illusion we create and project into the world.
This is one of the gifts that man has received: being able to make the
choice in how he deems to act.
THE CONNECTION
How do we make a genuine connection with that sacred spark that lies within us?
We open our ears to listen to the beating heart of the Universe. We stand
firm with our hearts raised and release our fears into the unending galaxies
that surround us. We face ourselves and our fellow travelers with a
gentleness of spirit that soothes even the most ravaged soul among us.
THE MELTING POINT
Source has created us in such a manner that a wealth of inner wisdom lies within
us to be discovered and unearthed as each of us gently opens up to the surge of
electricity or electrical power that lies within us.
Sometimes, there is an inertia so
strong within that for some it is impossible to move this way or that,
continually swaying back and forth. We have become totally immobilized by
our own doing. We sometimes become an unwilling participant in a circus of
discontent by aiming to run away from our tremendous future and promising
present into the past. The past binds and ultimately paralyzes or cripples
us into taking poor measures.
The truth is never simple and never
complex: the truth just is. The truth is not good or bad: the
truth simply is. 'As above so below.' 'I am that I am.' These
are all simply truths. You, yourself are simply an element of the truth.
The truth is sometimes too much for some souls to bear. There is a need by
some experiencing this expedition to cover up and hide away from the truth with
fragments from the past. Know that the truth is not ugly nor is it
beautiful. The truth simply is. Be at peace with that. The
truth is home. When you find the truth, you find yourself.
